Resolution (2003/4) on Combating the Defamation of Religions
The United Nations Commission on Human Rights has issued a
Resolution (2003/4) on Combating the Defamation of Religions. The Resolution
“calls upon the international community to initiate a global dialogue to promote
a culture of tolerance based on respect for human rights and respect for religious
diversity and urges the States, non-governmental organizations, religious bodies
and the print and electronic media to support and promote such a dialogue”.
Particularly highlighted is the Muslim tradition, which, since the events of
11th September 2001, has, in some places, suffered from discrimination.
